Committed to protecting all people
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger, or requires immediate medical attention, please contact the emergency services if it is safe to do so. In the UK, you can contact the emergency services on 999.
United Bible Societies Association (UBSA) is committed to protecting all people (including our staff and associated personnel) who come in direct or indirect contact with UBSA staff and associated personnel from all forms of harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We recognise that abuse can take different forms and that it can happen in any social, religious, and cultural setting.
A concern can arise when abusive behaviour is observed or suspected, when an allegation is made or disclosed, or where there are indicators (signs and symptoms) of suspected abuse on the victim.
We believe that it is important to report and properly deal with any serious issue about the conduct of UBSA or Bible Society staff, volunteers, and associated personnel, such as dishonesty, malpractice, fraud/corruption, bribery or suspected terrorist engagement or involvement, illegal acts or unethical actions, misconduct, or wrongdoing. This should be done without fear of retribution.

All concerns or allegations will always be treated seriously. A member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. As safeguarding cases can be extremely complex we will normally respond by requesting to speak to you. We don’t want you to worry about the call – it is simply to help us better understand what is going on. Please provide us with a safe contact number and time frames (including time zone) to call, and a brief summary of the concern.
UBSA staff and associated personnel MUST NOT investigate allegations or suspicions themselves.
